PROBLEMS CHECKS SOLUTIONS
The pool cleaner works slowly or not at all
  • Is the filter clean?
  • Are the baskets clean?
  • Is the vacuum lid sitting flush in the weir valve and the hose secure?
  • Is the diaphragm operational?
  • Backwash the filter properly.
  • Remove baskets and clean thoroughly. (Baskets must be in good condition.)
  • Remove and reinstall.
  • Make sure that the connections are sealed.
  • Check for blockages or splits in the diaphragm.

PROBLEMS CHECKS SOLUTIONS
The pool cleaner is working slowly and air bubbles are noticeable at the return jet
  • Is there a leak in the system?
  • Is the automatic weir valve below the water level?
  • Possible leak at pump lid.
  • Check the pump lid o-ring.
  • Possible leak in hose.
  • Check level of water.

PROBLEMS CHECKS SOLUTIONS
The pool cleaner is sticking in corners or at the steps.

  • Is the deflector wheel properly installed?
  • Check hose length.
  • Ensure that the deflector wheel is fixed in rotates freely.
  • Use the return flow jet to push the hose away from the steps.
  • Shorten the hose so that it doesn't reach the steps.
  • Install a wheel deflector kit.

PROBLEMS CHECKS SOLUTIONS
The pool cleaner does not reach the shallow end of the pool, or moves in a set pattern.
  • Is the hose long enough?
  • Is the hose affected by the return flow?
  • Are the hose lengths straight?
  • Add more sections of hose.
  • Adjust the return outlet towards the bottom of the pool to make sure that the jet of water does not influence the direction of the hose.
  • Make sure the hose lengths are in good condition. (Never roll or coil hoses.)

PROBLEMS CHECKS SOLUTIONS
The pool cleaner climbs above the water level.
  • Is there too much suction?
  • Check that the Automatic Weir valve is not blocked by leaves, preventing the water from flowing through it.

PROBLEMS CHECKS SOLUTIONS
The pool cleaner does not climb the walls easily.
  • Is there sufficient suction?
  • Make sure that the filter is clean.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

MULTIPORT CONTROL VALVE - This valve has 6 positions

  1. Filter - Used in the course of normal filtration.
  2. Waste - Used to bypass the filter when draining the pool or vacuuming a heavy dirt load from the pool direct to waste.
  3. Closed - Used only if filter lid has to be opened for maintenance purposes or when the pump is sited below water level.

NEVER RUN THE PUMP WITH VALVE IN THIS POSITION

  1. Backwash - This position reverses the water flow and lifts the trapped dirt from the sand bed pumping it to waste.
  2. Bypass - Used for circulation without filtration - this position is not normally used in swimming pool applications.
  3. Rinse - This position is used after backwash to avoid a discharge of dirty water returning to the pool after backwash.

Before backwashing, ensure baskets are clean and automatic pool cleaner is disconnected from the system to maximise the flow rate of water for efficient backwash.

BACKWASHING - Once the installation is complete and sand has been added, the filter must be backwashed.

N.B. NEVER OPERATE THE HANDLE OF THE CONTROL VALVE WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING

  1. Select "backwash" on the valve and turn on the pump.
  2. Watch the sightglass on the valve. When water in the sightglass is clear, turn off the pump (2-3 minutes).
  3. Select rinse on the valve (moving the handle in a clockwise direction) and turn on the pump.
  4. When sightglass is clear (approximately 30 - 45 seconds), turn off the pump.
  5. Select "filter" on the valve (once again turning the handle clockwise) and turn on the pump.

The backwash procedure should be done regularly every week.
